Barton Hills Country Club

Founded in 1922 and routed by legendary architect Donald Ross, Barton Hills Country Club delivers a classic parkland challenge just minutes northwest of downtown Ann Arbor. The 18-hole, par-71 layout stretches to over 7,000 yards from the championship tees, weaving through mature hardwoods and subtle elevation changes along the Huron River. Trademark Ross greens—small, sloping and well-protected by strategic bunkering—demand precise iron play, while wide fairway corridors reward confident drives. A recent restoration by Ron Prichard recaptured original sightlines and contouring, preserving heritage while upgrading turf and drainage. Members enjoy a complete practice complex featuring a double-ended driving range, short-game area and expansive putting green, complemented by PGA-professional instruction and club-fitting services in the full-service golf shop. The hilltop clubhouse offers casual and fine dining with panoramic course views, private event venues, locker rooms and a well-appointed men’s grill. Beyond golf, the club hosts six Har-Tru tennis courts, a resort-style pool, fitness center and an active year-round social calendar, making Barton Hills a cornerstone of Ann Arbor’s recreational scene.
