Brae Burn Country Club

Founded in 1897 and reshaped by Donald Ross in 1912, Brae Burn Country Club is a storied private retreat in West Newton, just ten miles from downtown Boston. The 18-hole championship layout plays to par 72 at 6,800 yards, weaving over rolling, tree-lined terrain with small, elevated greens and artful bunkering that demand strategic shot-making. A separate 9-hole, par-3 course offers a relaxed venue for families and short-game sharpening. Brae Burn’s pedigree includes hosting the 1919 U.S. Open, five USGA championships since, and numerous state majors, underscoring its reputation as one of New England’s finest tests. Members enjoy a full-service practice range, dedicated short-game area, dual putting greens, and indoor simulators for year-round training. The hilltop clubhouse features multiple dining rooms, a panoramic terrace, modern locker rooms, fitness center, and a pro shop stocked with top brands. Beyond golf, amenities span a pool complex, four Har-Tru tennis courts, paddle courts, and an active calendar of clinics, tournaments, and social events. Equity-based memberships are offered in Golf, Junior, Social, and Pool/Tennis categories; guest play is limited and by member invitation only.
