Broadmoor Golf Club - East

The Broadmoor's East Course is the resort's championship eighteen, laid out 6,400-6,800 feet above sea level against the rugged backdrop of Cheyenne Mountain in Colorado Springs. Donald Ross routed The Broadmoor's original 18 holes in 1918; Robert Trent Jones Sr. expanded and redesigned the property in 1952 and 1964, and the holes that emerged as the East Course carry both hands. It plays as a par-72 championship track stretching 7,355 yards from the tips, over tree-lined fairways to lightning-quick bent-grass greens, with dramatic elevation changes framing postcard views of Pikes Peak and the Rocky Mountain Front Range. The East has carried the bulk of the resort's championship history: the U.S. Amateur in 1959, where Jack Nicklaus won the first of his USGA titles; the U.S. Women's Open in 1995, Annika Sörenstam's breakthrough win, and again in 2011; and the U.S. Senior Open in 2008, 2018 and 2025. The course has earned five-star ratings from Golf Digest and recognition among the world's top golf resorts. Play is available to Broadmoor hotel guests. The golf facility includes two full-service practice areas — a multi-tiered driving range with five target greens, multiple chipping greens with bunkers, and three putting greens — with instruction from PGA professionals. The clubhouse holds locker rooms, a well-stocked golf shop and multiple dining venues overlooking the 18th green. The resort runs tournaments, corporate outings and custom stay-and-play packages year-round, with carts included in all green fees.
