Chattanooga Golf and Country Club

Founded in 1896 along the sweeping banks of the Tennessee River, Chattanooga Golf and Country Club is the city’s oldest golf venue and one of the South’s classic Donald Ross layouts. The private, par-71 course stretches to almost 6,700 yards from the championship tees, weaving through mature hardwoods and rolling riverfront terrain that demands strategic shot placement, crisp iron play, and imaginative short-game touch on Ross’s subtly contoured greens. A recent restoration by architect Bill Bergin has revived original bunkering, re-established firm, fast playing surfaces, and expanded vistas of downtown Chattanooga and Lookout Mountain. Members enjoy a complete practice facility with full-grass range, short-game area, and putting green, while the stately river-view clubhouse offers formal and casual dining, men’s and women’s lounges, and an active calendar of social and competitive events. Tennis courts, a junior-Olympic pool complex, and fitness center round out the amenities, making Chattanooga G&CC a multi-generational hub for sport, recreation, and Southern hospitality.
