Danville Golf Club

Danville Golf Club is a private club on West Main Street, on the west side of Danville in Southside Virginia, founded in 1916. Play is for members and their guests, and membership is by sponsorship from a current member. The clubhouse has the 19th Hole bar and dining room, a ballroom used for weddings and other events, a fitness center, a game room and sports courts, and a pool opens in summer. Craig D. Gunn, a PGA professional, runs lessons and clinics. The course is an 18-hole par 70 of 6,383 yards from the Blue tees, rated 71.1 with a slope of 132, with White, Gold and combination tees down to 4,516 yards. It has four par 3s, two par 5s and twelve par 4s, ranging from 336 to 431 yards. Trees line most of the fairways and close in on the doglegs at the 11th and 15th, the 12th and 15th greens are guarded by pairs of bunkers short of the putting surface, and the 17th, the hardest hole on the card, has none. A pond fronts the green at the short 4th. The club describes a walkable routing that emphasizes accuracy and strategy. It has hosted the State Open of Virginia five times and a run of VSGA championships, and its 2026 calendar included the VSGA Girls Junior Championship.
