Danville Golf Club
Set on rolling Piedmont terrain just west of downtown Danville, Danville Golf Club is a private, 18-hole course that plays today to a par 70 at a club-listed 6,235 yards from the back (Blue) markers. The club operates a traditional clubhouse with dining and a golf shop, and maintains practice facilities (range and short-game/putting areas) alongside seasonal pool amenities for families. Tee sets accommodate a wide range of abilities, with published ratings from approximately 70.4/121 (Blue) down to forward tees around 69.0/118. The course’s character is defined by intimate corridors, notable elevation changes on several holes, and compact green sites that emphasize precision over length. Although the club is member-only, it routinely supports Virginia State Golf Association qualifying and championships, keeping daily conditions geared toward tournament-ready speeds and firmness. Visitors encountering the course today should expect a classic-scale test—walkable, varied, and shaped by early-20th-century design bones—overlayed with later turf/construction updates (including ultradwarf bermudagrass on the putting surfaces) that suit southern Virginia’s climate and the club’s competitive calendar.
