High Point Country Club - Emerywood Course

High Point Country Club (High Point, NC) operates across two sites: the in-town Emerywood property—home to a compact Donald Ross nine that opened in 1923—and the Willow Creek property, whose full 18-hole course by Willard C. Byrd opened in 1964 as the independent Willow Creek Golf Club before joining the present club. Emerywood sits just west of downtown in a mature residential setting and functions today as a walkable, members-only layout with small, lively greens and short-game facilities; it is used heavily for practice, family golf, and casual play. Willow Creek, several miles away, provides the club’s championship venue: a par-72, 7,045-yard test over broader corridors (Champion Bermuda greens were installed there in 2012). Members thus experience two distinct environments under one membership—Emerywood’s intimate Ross nine and Willow Creek’s tournament-ready Byrd 18—supported by a sizable clubhouse program, racquets, swimming, and fitness. The club is private and invitation-only.
