Interlachen Country Club

Interlachen Country Club sits on glacial ground in Edina, just southwest of Minneapolis. It is a private, members’ club whose golf course re-opened in August 2024 following a 14-month restoration led by Andrew Green that returned, and in places re-created, Donald Ross’s 1919–21 design intent using the club’s original Ross blueprints. The course today plays over rolling ridgelines and around Mirror Lake and adjoining wetlands, with frequent elevation change and water in play on several holes. Practice accommodations include a driving range and short-game areas; a campus transformation completed alongside the course work added new member facilities—the Lodge (dining), the Fieldhouse (fitness), and a pavilion serving the expanded racquet center. The club hosts member-guest and invitational events and will stage the 2030 U.S. Women’s Open, continuing a long championship pedigree that includes the 1930 U.S. Open and the 2008 U.S. Women’s Open. From the back tees the post-restoration yardage is about 7,200 yards (par typically 72 for everyday play; the club has used different pars for championships), with firm, widened fairways and greens expanded back to their original fill pads to recapture internal contour and edge pinning.
