Lewistown Country Club
Set in the Juniata River valley just outside downtown Lewistown, Lewistown Country Club today operates as a semi-private club with public access for daily-fee play, outings, and its practice facilities. The property sits along U.S. Route 22/522, roughly an hour from Harrisburg and a half-hour from State College, and includes an 18-hole course that stretches close to 6,800 yards at its longest, a driving range (recently refurbished and open to the public), a seasonal Iron River Grille, golf simulator programming in the off-season, and a family pool. The current course presents as a playable, parkland layout with a handful of water features (notably at the par-3 8th) and a mix of long par-4s and stout par-3s that fit the rolling central-Pennsylvania terrain. The club hosts local and regional amateur events—including Central Counties dates and Golf Association of Philadelphia “GAP Central” series stops—while also catering to league play and outings. From a visitor’s perspective, the experience is that of a community-oriented club that welcomes public play while offering traditional member amenities and programming typical of a mid-century Pennsylvania club.
