Mimosa Hills Golf Club
Mimosa Hills Golf Club sits in the foothills of NC’s Blue Ridge, on the west side of Morganton. It is a private club organized around an 18-hole Donald Ross course dating to 1929. Today the club presents a walkable, old-style layout with two returning nines and frequent proximity to the clubhouse, plus a full-service operation that includes pro shop, dining and social spaces, a practice tee/range, and seasonal programming (junior golf, high-school teams, and regional competitions). The course plays over rolling piedmont ground with framed mountain vistas—especially on the higher back-nine holes—while its greens and bunkering ask for precise angles and disciplined distance control. Mimosa Hills remains an active tournament venue in the Carolinas golf calendar (USGA qualifying, state championships, and periodic professional/junior events), and it has also embraced classic-golf culture, hosting the U.S. Hickory Open in consecutive years. The club emphasizes preservation of its Ross identity while accommodating contemporary play through measured restoration and ongoing tree/agronomic management.
