Oakland Hills Country Club - South

Located twenty minutes northwest of Detroit in Bloomfield Hills, Oakland Hills Country Club is a storied 36-hole private enclave. Its famed South Course, par-72 stretching 7,445 yards after Gil Hanse’s 2021 restoration, and the scenic North Course, par-72 6,700 yards, were originally crafted by Donald Ross in 1916. Nicknamed “The Monster” by Ben Hogan following his 1951 U.S. Open victory, the South has hosted six U.S. Opens, three PGA Championships, the 2004 Ryder Cup, and will welcome future USGA majors. Expect tight tree-lined fairways, deep Ross-style bunkers, and lightning-fast greens. A stately Tudor-style clubhouse anchors the property, offering member dining, locker rooms, event venues, and overnight suites. Golfers enjoy a full caddie program, double-ended practice range, short-game complex, indoor winter simulators, junior camps, and on-site club fitting. Walking is encouraged; carts permitted on the North. Play is restricted to members and their guests, with a smart casual dress code and firm pace-of-play policy.
