Palma Ceia Golf Course
Palma Ceia Golf & Country Club sits in South Tampa’s Palma Ceia neighborhood, a compact urban site bordered by MacDill Avenue and minutes from Bayshore Boulevard. Today it is a private club with a walkable, member-centric routine: an 18-hole, par-70 course on roughly 80-plus acres; a historic clubhouse complex; and full-service amenities including practice greens, short-game areas, tennis, fitness, and an Olympic-sized pool. The club hosts the nationally respected Gasparilla Invitational (mid-am/senior-am) each February, which gives a reliable read on how the course plays at championship speeds: narrow corridors framed by specimen trees, exacting angles into small targets, and fast, contoured Bermuda greens. Yardage varies by published scorecards, but the back tees play just over 6,200 yards; the test comes from precision rather than length. The clubhouse and campus have been modernized in stages while preserving the club’s tournament-hosting DNA and its long association with elite amateur and professional events, including the LPGA’s first official tournament in 1950.
