Piqua Country Club

Set on gently rolling ground west of downtown Piqua, Piqua Country Club presents a compact, walkable private course that today blends a 1920 Donald Ross nine with a 1970s Jack Kidwell addition. The club operates as an equity private facility with a full clubhouse, dining, pool, and a traditional practice range and short-game areas, serving a membership drawn largely from the Miami Valley. The round unfolds through tree-lined corridors punctuated by two meandering creeks that influence both par fives and selected approaches, with small, tilting greens that reward precise iron play and short-game control. Yardage from the back tees measures in the mid-6,800s for par 72, but the course plays tighter than the card suggests due to modest fairway widths and green surrounds that favor angles. Visitors today encounter a clear contrast between the older holes—generally shorter, with smaller targets and more internal green movement—and the later Kidwell holes, which add length and a slightly broader scale while respecting the property’s natural fall and drainage. Club communications emphasize the Ross heritage while acknowledging later enhancements and the 18-hole completion by Kidwell.
