Rhode Island Country Club

Rhode Island Country Club sits in West Barrington on 200 coastal acres with long views over Narragansett Bay. The private, member club centers on an 18-hole Donald Ross course whose final four holes cross Nayatt Road to play along the shoreline; winds off the Bay shape club-selection and angles coming home. The golf experience today is par 71 at roughly 6,734 yards from the back tees, supported by a full clubhouse (recently renovated dining and bar spaces, plus a golf-simulator addition), pro shop, and practice areas appropriate to the site’s footprint. The club is best known regionally for hosting five USGA championships—most recently the 2011 U.S. Women’s Amateur—and for two decades (1999–2019) serving as venue for the CVS Health Charity Classic founded by members Brad Faxon and Billy Andrade. A visitor encounters a classic New England parkland-seaside hybrid: tree-lined inland holes with Ross’s trademark optical tests, then a linksy, wind-exposed finish over the Bay. Course access is by member invitation.
