Tatnuck Country club
Tatnuck Country Club occupies high ground along Pleasant Street on the west side of Worcester, Massachusetts, where a compact, walkable nine-hole layout threads around a small pond and creek and then climbs into lightly rolling, tree-framed corridors. The club is private and centers its golf around a Donald Ross–designed nine that today measures 3,034 yards (par 35) from the back tees, with alternate tees for a second loop. Facilities include a driving range, a short-game area, pool, and active racquet program (clay tennis and platform tennis), as well as a recently expanded clubhouse. In recent seasons the club embarked on a historically minded master plan guided by architect Matthew Dusenbery with research support from Bradley S. Klein; work to date has focused on tree management, restoring fairway width, recapturing green perimeters, and selectively reinstating hazards documented on mid-century aerials (notably the fairway bunker influencing the approach to the 4th). The day-to-day presentation emphasizes firm surfaces and short-grass surrounds that keep the course playable for families while preserving the strategic bite that has made the club a favorite venue for Mass Golf Member Days and local events.
