Warwick Country Club

Set on a low promontory of Warwick Neck with Narragansett Bay on three sides, Warwick Country Club today is a private, family-oriented club whose golf course is defined by exposure to wind and water views more than by raw yardage. The current layout plays to a par of 69 at roughly 6,500–6,600 yards from the back markers, with wide horizons and an unusually varied cadence for a course of modest length. The property is compact, with the clubhouse perched above several fairways and the closing green, and nearly every hole offering a glimpse of the bay. Facilities include short-game and practice areas, seasonal racquet amenities, and an active events calendar; the club celebrated its centennial in 2024 and continues to host Rhode Island Golf Association competitions. Daily play encounters firm, breeze-shaped conditions and an emphasis on approach play rather than brute distance, a consequence of the course’s par-69 composition (only one par five) and smallish, well-defended targets. Greens run in the medium-small range with interior contours that reward precise placement, while fairway bunkering and sloping approaches invite ground options when the wind freshens off the bay.
