Washington-Wilkes Country Club occupies a gently rolling tract on the east side of Washington, Georgia, where fairways run through mature pines and pockets of open turf on ground once cleared for cotton. The club today operates as a small, private nine-hole course with an adjacent RV park; unlike most private facilities, RV guests are invited to play on a limited basis, with posted guest rates and pro-shop hours that reflect a volunteer-supported operation. The loop plays to par 36 at roughly 3,176 yards from the back markers, with two par fives and two par threes giving the course a traditional cadence; most holes have forward tees to create a distinct second nine when played as eighteen. Water now influences play on the 1st and 5th, and trees frame many corridors, but distances remain modest. Conditioning emphasizes straightforward, durable surfaces; greens are grass (converted from sand after World War II) and supported by basic irrigation. The clubhouse sits near the center of the property, with short walks from green to tee that reinforce the club’s role as a community venue rather than a destination resort.
