Agawam Hunt

Established in 1897, Agawam Hunt is a storied private club tucked along the Seekonk River in Rumford, Rhode Island. The 18-hole layout, originally crafted by Willie Park Jr. and later refined by Donald Ross, stretches to 6,292 yards from the tips and plays to a par 69, demanding precision rather than brute length. Tight, tree-lined fairways, strategic Ross bunkering and subtly contoured, quick greens reward thoughtful shot-making, while multiple sets of tees keep the challenge engaging for players of all abilities. Course ratings stand at 71.8/132 from the back tees. Complementing the golf experience are a full-service practice range, short-game area and putting green, plus experienced PGA staff offering lessons, fittings and junior programs. The golf house features a patio, members lounge, burger bar, men's and ladies changing areas, bag room and a full-service golf shop. Across the street, the brick Federal-style clubhouse houses locker rooms, grille room, formal dining and event space. Members also enjoy 10 grass tennis courts and 4 Har-Tru courts, paddle and squash courts, swimming pool and seasonal social calendar. Access is limited to members and their guests, with limited outside outings booked on select Mondays.
