Alamance Country Club

Alamance Country Club is a private, member-owned club on North Fairway Drive in Burlington, North Carolina. Membership is by invitation: a prospective member needs a member to sponsor them and two more to endorse them. The 18-hole Donald Ross course plays to a par of 71 and 6,871 yards from the I Tees, with five tee sets down to 5,089 yards. It is a tree-lined course on a compact property without dramatic landforms, and most of its par 4s and par 5s bend or are blind from the tee, so the green is rarely in view from the tee. The greens are undulating and fast rather than crowned. Bob Cupp rebuilt the course from Ross's plans in 1999, and the greens and bunkers were restored again in 2020, when new tees were added. Practice facilities include a range, two putting greens, a short-game area and a teaching center, and the club's PGA professionals offer lessons and club fitting and run the golf shop. Away from the course there is a 25-yard pool with a separate adult pool, open from Memorial Day to Labor Day; six lighted tennis courts and four pickleball courts; a fitness center; and a dining room and the 1946 Grill.
