Athens Country Club

Athens Country Club has anchored the Athens golf scene since 1926, pairing Donald Ross’s strategic green complexes with the rolling hardwood-lined terrain of northeast Georgia. The private, par-72 layout stretches just over 6,900 yards from the championship markers, offering multiple tee boxes to accommodate every skill level while keeping Ross’s demand for precise angles in play. Bermuda fairways flow into subtly contoured bentgrass greens, recently restored by architect Mike Young to recapture original bunker shapes and sightlines. Members warm up on a full-length driving range, dedicated short-game area and expansive putting green before heading out. The golf staff provides PGA instruction, custom club fitting and an active tournament calendar highlighted by seasonal member-guest events and weekly leagues. A well-stocked golf shop, GPS-equipped cart fleet and complimentary bag storage round out the on-course amenities. Off the course, a newly renovated clubhouse offers casual and fine dining, locker rooms and event space, complemented by resort-style pools, tennis courts and a fitness center.
