Bald Peak Colony Club

Carved into the slopes above Lake Winnipesaukee, Bald Peak Colony Club delivers classic Donald Ross golf with New England resort charm. The 18-hole, par-72 layout opened in 1921 and stretches 6,515 yards from the back tees, demanding precise angles, understated Ross green contours, and strategic bunker placement rather than sheer length. Elevation changes unveil panoramic views of the lake and Ossipee Mountains on nearly every hole, highlighted by the picturesque par-3 7th that plays downhill toward shimmering water. Bentgrass greens, impeccably conditioned fairways, and a season that runs May through mid-October maximize playability. Walking is encouraged, caddies are available, and carts may be taken on most holes. A full practice range, short-game area, and putting green support instruction from PGA professionals. The lakeside clubhouse houses a well-stocked pro shop, locker facilities, and multiple dining rooms, while the adjacent historic Bald Peak Inn offers guest rooms and cottages for stay-and-play access. Play is limited to members, their guests, and registered resort guests, preserving an uncrowded, traditional experience.
