Belleair Country Club - West

Belleair Country Club, Florida’s oldest golf club, pairs storied Donald Ross architecture with modern conditioning and amenities just minutes from Clearwater’s Gulf beaches. The West Course—Ross’s No. 1, designed by him in 1915 and revised by his own hand in 1924—was restored to those drawings by Fry/Straka in 2022: a 7,124-yard, par-72 routing with some thirty feet of elevation change and half a mile of frontage on Clearwater Bay, its fairways returned to Ross’s widths, buried streams re-exposed, and his distinctive “cop” mounds rebuilt to specification, with TifEagle greens and Bimini bermudagrass keeping it firm and fast year-round. The companion East Course, Ross’s inland second eighteen, closed in spring 2026 for its own Fry/Straka renovation. A stately waterfront clubhouse anchors the experience with dining venues overlooking Clearwater Harbor, racquet sports, croquet, and a resort-style pool. Access is private, with limited guest play alongside members.
