Hole 2 · Par 4 · 429 yds
The par-four 2nd that Ben Hogan praised
The 429-yard 2nd from the Gold tees, stroke index 3, starts across a road and alongside a tree-lined creek on the right. The fairway begins about 230 yards short of the green and turns right about 40 degrees around a stand of trees, and from there a pond runs down the right from about 110 yards to 25 yards short of the green. One bunker sits left of the fairway about 65 yards short. The pear-shaped green, roughly 30 yards across, angles from back-left to front-right with a single bunker behind it on the left. The club's history records Ben Hogan calling it one of the finest holes on the professional circuit in 1940.
