Bobby Jones Golf Club

Bobby Jones Golf Club is Sarasota's historic municipal centerpiece, offering 27 holes of affordable, walker-friendly golf five minutes from downtown and the Gulf beaches. Originally designed by Donald Ross in 1926 and dedicated to Bobby Jones in 1927, the facility underwent a major restoration completed in December 2023. The centerpiece is the 18-hole Ross Course (par 71), stretching from 4,583 to 6,714 yards across six tee sets, faithfully restored to Ross's original design by architect Richard Mandell. Complementing this is the innovative 9-hole Gillespie Course, an adjustable short course that can be played five different ways with 30 hole combinations. A state-of-the-art 25-acre practice facility features 70 hitting stations, a 3.75-acre short-game area, and a 21,000-square-foot putting green. PGA-certified instruction is available year-round. The facility includes a well-stocked pro shop, affordable club and cart rentals, and dining options (with a permanent clubhouse planned). Daily-fee tee times can be booked online, with Sarasota residents receiving a 40% discount, keeping this municipal treasure accessible and budget-friendly.
