Buck Hill Falls Golf Club

Buck Hill Falls Golf Club is the 27-hole course of Buck Hill Falls, a residential community and resort in the wooded Pocono Mountains of Pennsylvania, begun in 1901 by Philadelphia Quakers. Golf here is three nines: the Red, Robert White's original 1907 nine, and the White and Blue, the two nines Donald Ross added in 1922. The White and Blue are played together as the club's main 18, par 72 and 6,509 yards from the Blue tees, with the Red paired with either Ross nine for par-70 combinations. The White, the front nine of the Ross 18, is the longest and flattest of the three and winds through the community's golf cottages, with Griscom Run crossing into play on the 2nd and the closing par-3 9th. The Blue is compact and tree-lined, with elevated tees and greens; its 4th (the 13th on the card) finishes beside the Swarthmore Gazebo. The Red is the most open and hilly nine. The club operates semi-privately, with members drawn from the community's cottagers and non-residents, and a public golf page listing cart and club rentals, a pro shop, a driving range, a putting green and lessons. The Ross nines were restored for their 2022 centennial with architect Rees Jones, historian Andrew Mutch and NMP Golf Construction, and the club says improvements to the Red nine are to follow.
