The club calls the 9th its signature hole: a downhill par 3, 199 yards from the White tees and 207 from the Blue. Griscom Run, which the club traces down from the 2nd, crosses the hole on a diagonal, about 140 yards from the tee on the line and roughly 65 yards short of the green. The green is an oval running along the line, with a long bunker down its left side and a small one about 30 yards short on the right. A pond lies beyond the green, about 35 yards past its centre, and a wall of trees closes the right side.
