Cape Fear Country Club

Cape Fear Country Club is Wilmington’s premier private golf destination and the oldest club in NC, established 1896. Set minutes from downtown, the 18-hole, par-72 layout unfolds beneath centuries-old live oaks draped in Spanish moss, combining southern charm with classic Donald Ross architecture. Playing 7,005 yards from the back tees, the course features gently rolling, tree-lined fairways, strategically placed bunkers, and slick Bermuda greens that demand precision rather than brute length. Multiple tee options, including a forward set at 4,857  yards, make the routing enjoyable for every skill level. Members enjoy a full practice complex with a double-ended range, short-game area, and putting green, complemented by expert PGA instruction and club fitting. The stately 40,000-sq-ft clubhouse anchors a campus that also offers casual and fine dining, a resort-style pool, eight Har-Tru tennis courts, pickleball, and a modern fitness center. Year-round tournaments, junior programs, and vibrant social events round out the experience, making Cape Fear Country Club a timeless yet dynamic hub for golf and community on the NC coast.
