Carolina Golf Club
Carolina Golf Club occupies rolling former dairy-farm terrain just west of Uptown Charlotte, a few minutes from the central business district and the airport. The private, member-owned club centers on a carefully restored 1929 Donald Ross course that today plays as a firm, walkable par-71 with championship yardage up to roughly 7,000 yards. Facilities include a full practice range and short-game complex (built as part of a mid-2000s master plan), a clubhouse perched above the home green with patio views toward the city skyline, and modern irrigation sourced from a new reservoir created during the restoration. Presentation emphasizes width-to-angle decisions from the tee, restored Ross-style bunkering with flat floors and grass faces, and green pads expanded back toward original perimeters—yielding demanding recoveries from short grass and tightly-mown fall-offs. Membership is by invitation; the club periodically hosts USGA and CGA qualifying and state events, and it served as stroke-play co-host for the 2018 U.S. Mid-Amateur.
