The longest par 4, in the woods

At 424 yards from the Blue tees the 8th is the longest par 4 and stroke index 3. It is the most wooded corridor on the South Course: dense woods line the whole left side and a tree line runs down the right. The fairway bends gently left over the last 200 yards, and a lone tree stands about 35 yards short-right of the green. The green is pear-shaped, wider at the back right and narrowing toward the front-left, with a long curved bunker short-right and a small bunker on the left. The club uses this hole to picture the course.
