Daytona Beach Golf Club - South

Daytona Beach Golf Club's South Course is the original 18 at the City of Daytona Beach's 36-hole municipal facility at 600 Wilder Boulevard in central Daytona Beach. The city owns and runs it as a daily-fee course open to the public, with riding and walking rates, and the club describes it as the Donald Ross design on the property; the North Course is a separate 18 built later by the club's then-professional. The South plays to par 71 from four sets of tees, from 3,871 to 6,229 yards. Its corridors run through live oaks and tall pines on flat ground, with little water: ponds in front of the par-3 9th, 12th and 15th and a pond beside the 4th are the main exceptions. The club calls the tee shots forgiving and the approaches demanding, and the greens are crowned, turtleback targets, often guarded by one or two bunkers. A railroad runs alongside the 4th, 13th and 14th, and passing trains are part of a round here. The facility has a driving range, practice putting and chipping greens, a pro shop with rental clubs, lessons and junior programs, and the Sandtrap Bar & Grill for breakfast and lunch.
