Flourtown Country Club

Flourtown Country Club is a nine-hole private club at 150 McCloskey Road in Flourtown, in Springfield Township northwest of Philadelphia. Springfield Township owns the property. Golf is by membership, open to township residents and non-residents, with no initiation fee and no food minimum; members may bring guests, and township residents without a membership may play twice a year on payment of greens fees. The club is a member club of the Golf Association of Philadelphia. The nine is played twice for an 18-hole round of par 70, with a second set of tee markers used the second time around. From our White/Blue card it is par 35 and 2,863 yards: six par 4s, one par 5 and two par 3s, with bentgrass fairways and greens. The holes run through tree-lined corridors with houses along several boundaries; the 5th follows a row of back gardens for its whole length. The 8th is the one hole that plays over water, a pond in front of and to the right of its green. Practice facilities are a 150-yard range with a net for longer clubs and a putting green. The stone clubhouse is also a wedding and events venue with farm-to-table catering by Seedling and Sage, and the club runs a seasonal pool complex with a diving well, a children's pool and a swim team.
