Fort Myers Country Club

Fort Myers Country Club—“The Fort”—is the City of Fort Myers’ in-town public course along palm-lined McGregor Boulevard, one mile from the Edison & Ford Winter Estates. Today it functions as a classic walkable municipal with tee times open to the public, a daily-fee pro shop, and on-site dining at The Edison restaurant. The course offers six sets of tees and typically plays as a par 70 for most sets (select forward tees rate as par 71) over roughly 6,600–6,780 yards depending on setup. Practice accommodations center on a substantial practice putting green beside the clubhouse; instruction is offered by PGA staff. A defining element of the playing experience is the drainage canal that bisects the interior of the property and shapes strategy on multiple holes, most famously the short par-4 3rd. Following a city-led upgrade in 2014, turf is modern (Celebration bermudagrass fairways and TifEagle ultradwarf greens), bunkers and surface runoff are integrated with a new water-management network of ponds, creeks, and canals, and walking remains encouraged. The facility is municipally owned and open year-round; fees are posted seasonally and tee times are bookable online through the city’s reservation portal.
