Kent Country Club

Kent Country Club sits on 130 acres in Grand Rapids’ Creston neighborhood, about ten minutes from downtown, and operates today as a private club with a walking culture, a no-tee-time policy, and an active caddie program. Golf amenities include an indoor TrackMan studio for off-season play and instruction, a full-service golf shop, and standard practice areas; the broader campus adds pool and racquet-sport facilities and a recently modernized clubhouse. The course plays over gently rolling, tree-lined uplands with frequent elevation change, most notably to high, perched greens on the home holes. A compact routing yields short green-to-tee walks and steady directional variety, with wind exposure most evident on the higher spines. Preparing for a round, visitors should expect firm, fast putting surfaces with significant tilt—several greens feature pronounced tiers, humps, or false fronts—and a handful of template-like elements including a long, demanding Redan-style par three. From the longest tees Kent is a par-71 of roughly 6,5xx yards; the club presents multiple sets of tees to modulate difficulty. In season, play is paced and traditional; off season, the club’s indoor studio sustains year-round activity.
