Mill Creek Park Golf Club - South

Set within Mill Creek MetroParks on Youngstown’s south side, Mill Creek Golf Course comprises two public 18-hole courses laid out by Donald Ross; this profile covers the South Course. The South is a walkable par-70 that unfolds across relatively level parkland, with tree-lined corridors and small streams that influence play on several holes. The facility operates as a municipal complex with a fieldhouse/pro shop and food-and-beverage service, on-site practice options (including a separate Par 3 course at the Wick Recreation Area elsewhere in the MetroParks system), and programming that ranges from local leagues to American Junior Golf Association events staged on the South Course. The park district reports four tee sets with overall yardage spans topping out a little over 6,500 yards. In recent years the South has benefited from targeted infrastructure work—most visibly a comprehensive bunker restoration and expanded cart-staging/amenities—intended to preserve the Ross character while improving drainage and daily-play resilience. Visitors today encounter a municipal course that presents classic, ground-game-friendly targets, frequent bunkering that frames preferred angles, and intermittent creek features that ask for placement first and power second. The course remains fully public and is administered by Mill Creek MetroParks.
