Misquamicut Country Club

Misquamicut Country Club sits in the Watch Hill section of Westerly, Rhode Island, where the glacial uplands of the village fall away toward Maschaug and Little Maschaug Ponds and the Atlantic beyond. Today the club presents a compact par-69 layout that measures just over 6,200 yards from the back tees. The opening stretch plays over tumbling ground around the clubhouse and pro shop, then the routing crosses Ocean View Highway into the low meadowland threaded by tidal ponds before returning to finish on the hill with an uphill one-shot 18th. The club operates as a private facility; visiting golfers typically encounter tight playing corridors framed by native fescues, fast-paced greens with pronounced short-grass runoffs, and frequent ocean winds that alter club selection as the round progresses. Practice facilities include a driving range, a short-game area and a putting green adjacent to the clubhouse. The course is best known for its sequence along the meadows—particularly the water-edged twelfth through fourteenth holes—and its unconventional par-3 finishing hole, a feature long noted in modern course descriptions.
