Mooresville Golf Club

Mooresville Golf Club sits in the Lake Norman corridor of Iredell County, just east of downtown Mooresville. It is a public, town-owned facility with an 18-hole course that reopened in 2016 after a comprehensive redesign by Kris Spence. Day-to-day, golfers find a split personality that the club itself highlights: a links-leaning front nine (open sightlines, fescue down the margins) and a more parkland-framed back nine. Playing surfaces use TifEagle ultradwarf Bermuda on greens, Zorro zoysia on tees, and 419 Bermuda on fairways, with roughly 20 acres of low-mow fescuelending contrast and texture. The clubhouse (newly built in the mid-2010s) anchors a full operation—restaurant, pro shop, and GPS-equipped cart fleet—alongside a dual-sided driving range, short-game area, and expanded practice green. The scorecard lists a par 72 at about 6,803 yards from the back tees, with multiple forward options. In 2017, Golf Inc.recognized the project among its top renovations—an outcome of a town bond program that funded the upgrade.
