Poland Spring Golf Course

Set on Ricker Hill above Lower Range Pond, Poland Spring Golf Course is the resort course at the historic Poland Spring complex in western Maine. It operates today as a public/daily-fee facility within a lodging resort, with tee times offered to members, resort guests, and the general public. The club lists an 18-hole, par-71 layout that measures 6,178 yards from the back markers, with forward sets down to just over 5,100 yards. Practice amenities include a full driving range and putting green, and on-site instruction is available through the resort’s golf school. The routing runs across open, elevated ground with broad views—many promotional and historical accounts emphasize long looks toward the White Mountains—and the set of par-3s forces varied club selection, from a short iron to a long hybrid. The walk remains moderate, with the card relying more on angles, green contours, and wind exposure than on modern length. Within the resort, the course is positioned as part of a larger historic district that includes the Maine State Building and All Souls Chapel, and it functions as a venue for outings and local charity events in addition to daily play.
