Teugega Country Club

Teugega Country Club sits on the south shore of Lake Delta in Rome, New York, with the clubhouse terrace looking over water and the opening and closing holes playing within sight of the lake. The club is private and member-owned. Golf anchors an all-season campus that includes a 1923 clubhouse (renovated in 2000), pool, tennis and lake access for boating and kayaking; practice facilities include putting and short-game areas, with routine on-course warm-up on the first tee. The course plays as a compact, walkable Donald Ross routing with dramatic interior variety despite modest elevation—greens are small to medium in size, often elevated and canted, and encircled by bold but proportionate bunker forms. Teugega sets up in the low-6,500-yard range at par 71 from the back tees, and the daily presentation emphasizes firm approaches and quick, sloped putting surfaces. The club regularly hosts state-association competitions and invitational play while retaining a low-key, member-course cadence. Visitors (by invitation) encounter a classic Upstate parkland with short-par-4 temptations, a stout mid-iron par-3 at the 7th, and a finishing run that rewards exacting distance control more than raw power.
