Wachusett Country Club

Wachusett Country Club occupies rolling hill country on the old Frost Farm above the Wachusett Reservoir in West Boylston, five miles from downtown Worcester. The club operates with public access (daily-fee tee times are offered online) alongside membership programs, and today’s facilities include a full driving range and practice area directly across Prospect Street, a clubhouse with dining at the Ross Tavern, and on-site league and tournament play. The round unfolds over pronounced slopes, shallow valleys, and a small brook, with long views toward Mount Wachusett. The course plays as a par-72 from the back markers, with a posted championship yardage in the mid-6,500s; the official scorecard and course/slope ratings are published on the club’s website. The routing concludes unconventionally with a par-3 eighteenth to a bunkered, back-to-front sloped target, a finishing cadence that shapes late-round strategy and crowd vantage points near the clubhouse. Day to day, Wachusett presents firm, quick greens, angle-sensitive approach play on its long par-4s, and several uphill or elevated one-shotters that punish imprecise distance control.
