Wellshire Golf Club

Wellshire Golf Course sits on 137 acres along South Colorado Boulevard in southeast Denver, where an 18-hole public layout threads through a mature neighborhood around the site’s historic Tudor clubhouse. Operated by Denver Golf, the facility offers a full practice complex—putting green, chipping green with practice bunkers, and (when open) a driving range—plus the junior “Hogan’s Alley” short course, a golf shop, lessons with PGA professionals, and the adjacent Wellshire Inn events center and Golfer’s Pub. The regulation course today plays in the mid-6,600s from the back sets with a standard card of par 70, opening with a par-5 and finishing with a second par-5 below the clubhouse. Conditions are classic parkland: tree-lined corridors, modest elevation change, and greens that reward placement more than brute power. City updates in the Skeel Reservoir corner of the property have temporarily affected range operations, but golf remains fully open while the reservoir decommissioning and range redevelopment proceed. As a city-owned course, Wellshire welcomes daily-fee play and league/charity calendars; it is also one of the few publicly accessible courses in the West with verifiable Donald Ross authorship and a record of hosting USGA championships and PGA Tour events.
