Wianno Golf Club

Wianno Golf Club sits in the village of Osterville on Cape Cod, with the ocean-front clubhouse perched above Nantucket Sound and the golf course itself situated inland around Parker Pond and Neck Pond off Parker Road. Today the club operates as a private, members-only facility. The course presents as a compact, wind-exposed Cape layout—par 70 from the back tees—with short walking connections, modest elevation change, and frequent cross-winds off the Sound. Practice amenities include a driving range, putting and short-game areas, and the golf operation centers at the inland “Golf House” near the first tee, separate from the seaside clubhouse. The routing threads through corridors of coastal vegetation and residential edges, using water only for views and carries (notably at the ninth). Hole variety leans toward shorter par fours that reward placement, two reachable-for-some par fives, and a set of par threes that can change character dramatically with wind direction and strength. The club has engaged Gil Hanse on a master plan since 2012, with recent work focused on tree management and bunker programs to recapture original scale and playing angles. Current course ratings list approximately 6,086 yards from the longest tees (men’s par 70; women’s par 72 from the same yardage), with multiple mixed-tee options rated.
