Woodhill Country Club
Set on rolling glacial terrain between Highway 12 and County Road 15 above Lake Minnetonka, Woodhill Country Club in Wayzata, Minnesota is a private, member-owned club built around an 18-hole course historically associated with Donald J. Ross. Today Woodhill plays as a par-71 with multiple teeing options; third-party listings place the course in the mid-6,500-yard range from the back markers, while the USGA ratings database currently shows a maximum men’s tee of 6,881 yards, reflecting recent re-ratings. The club maintains a driving range and full golf-shop operations and is widely used year-round thanks to a multi-sport “Barn” complex that anchors winter activities (platform tennis, two lighted hockey rinks, a luge run, sledding hill, and cross-country ski trails), alongside a summer program with ten Har-Tru clay tennis courts and a swimming pool. Woodhill has held Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary certification since the 1990s and continues to publicize environmental stewardship as part of its identity. For visitors or researchers, access is by invitation only; the club is not open to public play.
