Broadmoor Country Club
Broadmoor Country Club delivers a classic Donald Ross experience in the heart of Indianapolis. Opened in 1922, the par-72 layout stretches to 6,900 yards from the championship tees, weaving through mature hardwoods with subtle elevation changes, strategic cross-bunkering, and trademark Ross greens—small, sloped, and demanding precise approach shots. Extensive restoration work by Tom Doak (1999) and Bruce Hepner (2020-2022) has recaptured original sightlines and restored all 135 bunkers, giving today's golfers the shot values Ross intended while maintaining playable corridors for all handicaps.
Bent-grass tees, fairways, and greens provide smooth year-round conditioning, and five sets of tees let the course play from approximately 5,000 to 6,900 yards. A full practice complex—encompassing a driving range, short-game area, and expansive putting green—supports lessons, junior programs, and club fitting. Beyond golf, members enjoy a recently renovated clubhouse with casual and fine dining, event venues, three heated pools, six tennis courts, pickleball courts, and fitness facilities.
The club's prestigious history includes hosting the PGA Champions Tour from 1988-1993 (with winners including Gary Player and Raymond Floyd) and multiple U.S. Open qualifiers. Broadmoor's combination of historic pedigree, thoughtful restoration, and comprehensive amenities makes it a premier private destination in central Indiana, consistently ranked among the state's top 10 private courses.
