Elmhurst Golf & Country Club

Elmhurst Golf & Country Club sits on the northern slope of Birds Hill, in the Rural Municipality of Springfield, about 15 minutes northeast of downtown Winnipeg. It is a private club with a waiting list in every membership category. The course is on sandy, rolling ground left by glacial Lake Agassiz, and the club says it drains better than any course in the province, so it stays playable after heavy rain. From the Gold tees it measures 6,832 yards, par 71 (rating 73.6, slope 131), with five sets of men's tees and two women's sets. Most holes run down corridors framed by trees, and the club promotes the course as walkable. A road along the property is out of bounds, and a power line crosses the 18th. Since 2004 the club has worked from a Ron Prichard restoration plan, with contractor Dan Philcox rebuilding bunkers and greens in stages; the latest phase finished the 17th and 18th in the falls of 2023 and 2024. There is a practice facility, PGA of Canada teaching professionals, a junior programme, and Derek Ingram, head coach of Golf Canada's men's national team, works from the club. The timber-framed clubhouse hosts dining and events for up to 200 guests. Elmhurst remains a championship venue: it hosted the 2014 Canadian Men's Amateur and, in August 2026, the Manitoba Open on PGA TOUR Americas.
