Elmhurst Golf & Country Club

Elmhurst Golf & Country Club sits just northeast of Winnipeg on the sandy, rolling shoulder of Birds Hill in the Rural Municipality of Springfield. A private, member-owned club, Elmhurst centers the experience on walking golf; the course is compact and contiguous, and the current scorecard stretches to 6,832 yards (par 71) from the back tees. Practice facilities include a full range and short-game areas, supported by a year-round instructional culture that has produced provincial and national competitors. The clubhouse—significantly modernized from its 1970s successor—serves the golf operation with dining and events space but remains secondary to the course itself. Visitors today encounter a landscape of open vistas across glacially formed ground, a routing that moves across gentle rises and falls rather than deep ravines, and greens whose interior contours ask for precise approaches. Elmhurst continues to host significant championships, most notably the 110th Canadian Men’s Amateur in 2014, and it is scheduled within the new five-course rotation to stage the Manitoba Open on the PGA TOUR Americas circuit.
