Grove Park Inn & Country Club

Set within Asheville’s historic Omni Grove Park Inn estate on the eastern slope of Sunset Mountain, the Grove Park Inn golf course presents an 18-hole, par-70 Donald Ross layout that threads through steep, tree-lined corridors with frequent elevation change and long valley views back to the hotel. The course operates year-round, open to resort guests and non-guests alike, with a golf shop, short-game/practice areas, and food service at the Cabana Grill & Bar near the pool complex; tee time and rate details are handled through the resort’s golf pages. Bentgrass greens and fairways remain a defining agronomic feature today, and current USGA rating/slope figures list Black (70.2/128), Blue (68.0/126), Gold men (65.4/121), Gold women (71.1/128), and White (64.5/115). From the player’s perspective the golf is defined less by raw yardage than by angle control into canted green pads, frequent uphill approaches, and several short par fours (notably the fifteenth) that reward precise placement over power. The property is a resort environment rather than a private club, but the course’s lineage as the former Asheville Country Club gives it the feel of an in-town members’ track framed by mature neighborhoods and the hotel’s granite massing above the inward nine.
