Saint Andrew’s Golf Club occupies a compact valley-and-hillside property at 10 Old Jackson Avenue in Hastings-on-Hudson, twenty miles north of Manhattan. The private club centers on an 18-hole course that today plays par 71 at 6,614 yards from the back tees (course rating/slope listed around 73.6/145) and includes a modern teaching and practice complex known as the Apple Tree Learning Center, short-game areas, and a renovated 1897 clubhouse. The site is defined by a tributary of the Sprain River and rocky, wooded foothills that force frequent changes in elevation and angle. Present-day corridors reflect a late-20th-century Jack Nicklaus Signature reconfiguration layered onto earlier work, yet several fairway lines trace back to a 1914 Donald Ross redesign of part of the back nine. Members and guests encounter a tight, old-world walk with short green-to-tee transitions, mid-length par-3s over natural ledges, and two reachable par-5s that reward placement more than power. The club restricts outside play and positions itself as a heritage venue—America’s oldest continuously operating golf club—whose course integrates historic lines with modern infrastructure.
