James Braid's line and a road to carry
The tee and fairway line of James Braid's 1929 16th survive on this hole, according to the club. The drive plays out to the left, then the hole turns right at the first landing area and bends gently back left near the cart road. A pair of bunkers sits on the right of the first landing area, about 300 to 330 yards short of the green. A cart road crosses the fairway about 140 yards short, and the club advises carrying it with the second shot. Bunkers cluster short and right of the green and continue along its right side, with a single bunker back-left. A road and houses lie to the right of the closing stretch.
