Asheville Municipal Golf Course

Designed by legendary architect Donald Ross in 1927, Asheville Municipal Golf Course offers an authentic mountain golf experience just minutes from downtown Asheville, NC. The classic 18-hole, par-72 layout stretches 6,420 yards from the back tees, with four tee boxes that let every golfer pick a comfortable challenge. Ross’s trademark raised, subtly contoured greens and strategically placed bunkers reward precise iron play, while mature tree-lined fairways frame long vistas of the Blue Ridge Mountains. The gently rolling front nine lets players ease into the round before the hillier back nine demands thoughtful club selection and shot shaping. Daily-fee access, walking-friendly routing, and historically low green fees make “Muni” one of the most affordable and welcoming golf options in western NC. On-site amenities include a full-service pro shop, practice range, putting green, cart and pull-cart rentals, PGA instruction, leagues, and regularly scheduled tournaments. A newly renovated clubhouse features a casual grill and outdoor patio, creating a relaxed gathering spot before or after the round.
