Mohawk Golf & Country Club
Mohawk Golf & Country Club sits just south of Tiffin, in rural Seneca County, Ohio, on gently rolling ground bordered by farmland and low woodland. It is a private, 18-hole facility that serves as the home course for both Heidelberg University and Tiffin University golf teams, so tournament-ready conditioning is a routine expectation. Amenities include a clubhouse with food service (the “Ross Tavern”), a pro shop, and full practice facilities—bi-directional driving range plus putting and chipping areas—used heavily by members and collegiate teams. The course today plays to a par of 72 at approximately 6,685 yards from the back tees, with a mix of shorter par fours and reachable fives balancing stout two-shot holes. The present layout blends an older, more undulating nine holes attributed to Donald Ross with a later nine added in 1970; water features near the clubhouse frame approaches to the closing holes. Day-to-day play emphasizes brisk walking and traditional club golf on a compact site, with a steady cadence of collegiate invitationals and member events anchoring the calendar.
